We visually inspect the exterior of the property for proper grading, gutters and downspouts and make suggestions regarding any maintenance related items that need to be addressed.
Visually inspect interior basement walls. Identify the height of the wall(s) and note any cracks (vertical, horizontal, step) or base shear and provide locations on cad drawing.
Measure the accessible walls with a self-leveling laser level for displacements. Typically two measurements are taken on each accessible wall in three locations. One at cove for baseline, one mid-wall for bowing and one at top of wall for tipping. Record on cad drawing for each location. If walls are covered, the wall coverings and/or obstructions must be removed for follow-up visit.
Identfy locations of mechanicals, stairs and sump crock.
Measure corners to identify any as-built out of plumb conditions
Inspect walls and cove for active seepage or history of seepage and record on drawing.
Check sump pump or palmer valve for proper operation.
Inspect interior drain tile inlets in sump crock for debris.
